Bought the car with a burnt valve. So I had the head rebuilt and put a timing kit, spark plugs, wires, thermostat, water pump, and cap and rotor on. Car ran great after the new head for about two months. Then the check engine light came on with a misfire code for cylinder one and three. So I pulled plugs and wires, cap and rotor and kind of cleaned it up a little. Then put it all back together and erased the codes. Now a couple days later the check engine light comes back on and starts blinking. Then I noticed the car jolting. So I pulled over and checked my oil and had none on the dipstick so I added two quarts of oil. That is also when I instilled the new cap and rotor. Also, upper radiator hose had built up a lot of pressure.

If the engine is still misfiring, it could be the valve clearances are not correctly adjusted. Recheck valve clearance and readjust if necessary.

The burnt valve shown usually starts from valve leakages and the valve gets burnt from exhaust escaping through the gap.
