The other day my fan broke and the car overheated. I replaced the fan. Problem is, it sputters when I drive it. The check engine light did blink after maybe 20 minutes of idle. When I turned the A/C on to activate the fans. It made like a small tak, tak, tak, sound. Which was unusual and what concerned me. Turn it off, it stops. I carried it to the parts store and got P0301. Which is cylinder 1 misfire. There are suggestions from spark plugs. Ignition packs. The cylinder 1 coil is in the back under manifold. I’m not getting mixing in oil. The coolant isn’t firing up. The engine idles quite. I had the spark plugs changed recently Mechanic is a couple blocks away. Don’t want to move it. I’m kind of stuck on the best way to approach this. Thanks

The ignition coils go out all the time on these cars, I would remove the coil and test it for spark here is a video to help, if no spark replace the coil to fix the problem. Also, I would replace the plug wires as well.
