I have a Bakkie 1.4i she just swings and miss fires through the intake. The timing is in order what else could it possibly be?

Hey SUHAYL,

I would remove all spark plugs and do a compression test, then remove the valve cover to see if you have any broken valve springs.

Here is a few guides to help

and

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.

Best, Ken

Hi there thanks for the help but nothing wrong with the valves or springs is it a possibility the rockers or lifters could cause that?

Yes, with the ignition dissembled crank the engine over to see if each rocker moves up and down. If not you may have a flat camshaft.

That's the funny thing scan the car no fault code pertaining the misfire.

Prior to the vehicle cutting out the engine light came on when the vehicle speed was above 100km/h and when you slow down pass 100km/h she goes back off

It now sounds like it could be the timing chain has jumped. Does the engine sounds normal when cranking over. Can you perform the compression check?
