2005 Mini Cooper Oil pressure flucuation

This vehicle has 0 oil pressure at idle and 70 lbs while driving. When new it woiuld hold steady at 35 lbs all the time. What am I looking at here? My thought is the pump.

Hi there,

Is this reading with a mechanical gauge? if not get that done first and if the pressure a still a problem, i would be thinking that the pressure regulator valve is more likely the problem.
