Truck overheated and check reservoir and hoses and found to have milky substance in them.

Hello,

This sounds to me like you have a blown head gasket. The substance that you found is oil and coolant that has mixed together. This happens when your vehicle's head gasket fails and no longer keeps the oil galleys and the coolant passages separated anymore. I have included a few links for you to go to below:
