1972 MGB rpm goes down very slowly..why

Hi..when I rev the car up (engine at it normal running temp)and take my foot off the accelerator,the revs dont go down properly..they slowly go down to the idle setting..Ive checked the accelerator cable and most moverble parts to the external sides of the carb..what is causing it plz

If still using twin SU carbs then may need oil in piston. Unscrew black knob on top fill with oil up to top of chamber. This acts like a shock and helps close piston.
