My message center stays on and drains my battery. It says “security” but I don’t have an alarm or power locks.

Hi,

That is an odd one. I need you to try something and let me know what happens. Turn the key to the run position (engine off). Allow it to stay that way for approximately 10 minutes. See if the security light turns off.

Also, have you tried disconnecting the battery for approximately 10 minutes to see if that clears it?

If I had to guess, I suspect there may be an issue with the body control module. That is a theory at this point. Also, keep in mind, although you don't have an alarm, the vehicle has a pass lock circuit that must recognize the key. Otherwise, can cause the light to stay on. However, it should turn off when the key is off.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
