Brakes problem
1999 Mercury Villager Front Wheel Drive Automatic

What is the trick to removing the caliper bolts on a villager? There is a circular "sleeve" around the bolt that spins with the bolt I am trying to loosen so it won't go anywhere. I've tried holding it with pliers but since it is circular it still just spins in the pliers and there is not enough room to clamp it with some visegrips. Please help! Thanks.

It sounds like the slid has come out. You still should be able to loosten the bolt and remove the caliper. If it is something different, let me know.
