1998 Mercury Villager Tail Lights will not go off??

My back top lights, (I think the brake tail lights?) will not go off and I am not sure what to do. Can anyone help?

It sounds like the brake light switch is out of adjustment or just loose. It is located at the top of the brake pedal. Check it and let me know what you find.
