Recently my Mercury Villager started acting funny after I drove it for a long period of time. After I have drove the van around running errands if I have to make several stops it will start to hesitate as though it is going to die, then after a few minutes it will finally die. When it starts doing this I can press my foot down on the gas but it still continues to decelarate and eventually die. When I try to restart the vehicle it makes loud popping sounds from under the hood and will sometimes restart for a second only to start hesitating (shaking and wobbling) and die. Once it sits for about 30 minutes it will restart and be fine again. My concern is that I am supposed to be going on a long trip in a week and it will do this and not restart at all. I have had it checked and no one seems to have a clear diagnosis as to what it is...Can you just point me in the right direction? Thanks!
