Transmission problem
1995 Mercury Villager Automatic

hi

my family now resides in Mexico City and they took their '95 Mercury Villager with them. They have an unusually hard time finding parts for the car.

The latest culprit is this cable. My dad says the mechanic told him is part of the tranny, a sensor of some sort.

Could someone help me with the name of this part?

Thanks!!

It's a revolution speed sensor.

Tell me the color of the wires and I'll try to look up which one it is for you.

Hi

thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay in responding.

There is a black and a red wire.

My brother tells me the letters BC appear on one side, and the numbers 505 and RS 104 appear on the other side.

Thanks!

I believe that is the Pulse Signal Generator.

My manual lists the colors on the short pigtail coming off of the sensor as "No Color Available"
but
the pigtail plugs into a white and a black wire.

So find out what colors this plugs into and we will know more.
