1993 Mercury Villager oil light comes on, motor tapping

I had the oil changed the oil light came on about 20 mintues after i left. checked out level and its fine actually looks over a little. took cap off while running and its really dirty and looks gunked up. any sugestions. The light doesnt stay on all the time comes on and goes off.

Do an engine flush and check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge if normal replace the oil pressure sending unit abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearings
