1999 Mercury Tracer not starting

Shakes or Wobbles problem
1999 Mercury Tracer Automatic

hi my tracer has been shaking when driving and making a ticking every few seconds and a few days ago it started up and was idling high and shook and then died/stalled. Since then we can not get it started. we have changed spark plugs, it has fuel (3/4 tank) and it sounds better when it turns over but it will not start. we are currently checking the timing belt but what else should we look at?

you are on the right track as for checking the timing belt
check for spark and fuel pressure
check the video collection
