1994 Mercury Tracer car wont start or only starts for 5 sec

We need to check out the fuel pressure and come back with the readings before we get into the ignition system-also be checking for injection pulses while were in the fuel system and report all your findings so we can evaluate the situation and select the course of actions.

the book said while started the pressure should be between 30-40 it was 35. see whats happening is if i dont try to start it for a few hours it will run for like five min thats how i got the reading and then when it stalled and would sometimes start for like 5 sec then the reading was like 18. i took out the pump and hooked it up in sme water after a while the pump started chugging so it seems bad im going to get one in a day or so if thats not the problem i will reply with an update
