starter

my car is a 1989 ford mercury topaz front wheel drive v6 the mileage is about 102,000 miles. i cant seem to remove the starter even though i have removed five visible nuts and bolts, what am i missing? how do i accomplish this task?

If you have taken out all the bolts/bracket/brace-next thing is force and work it out.

The problem could be the pinion is jammed against the flexplate.
