I have a 1993 Mercury Topaz, 140,000km on it.
Right now the the motor for my fan does not have any power to it. I have checked the fuses, nothing wrong. I have tested the fan motor with an external power source, fan starts up blowing air throught the vents. I am looking for a relay that is under ther hood of my car(apparently), but I cannot find it? Any help on where to look for this relay and what it looks like would be of help. Thanx!!

look near the radiator for the "Power distribution" box.
Relay is in there, but you'll need an owners manual to figure out wich one it is.
Also check the connector to the fan switch...for melting!
