We have a 2002 mercury sable wagon and we have replaced the reservoir which had a crack in it. Then we had no heat. It would come on hot for awhile then blow nothing but cold air. The thermostat was changed and we flushed the radiator and the heater coil but still nothing. Then it was suggested that the head gasket was bad but we have no fluid leaking there or no antifreeze in the oil. It doesn't seem like it is leaking and being burnt in the intake either. So I am lost and hope to get some advise here. thank you

Check and test the heater control valve if it has one, could also be an air mix/blend/mode door problems to include vacuum and actuator/HVAC control module
