Shifting Sloppy

I have a '96 Mercury Sable, 3.0L EFI, 150,000 mi. A/T. When I go to put it into gear it is very sloppy. Its hard to find Neutral from Drive or OverDrive. When I try to park the car it won't even go into park. I usually have to find Neutral and put the parking brake on. The selector lever is sometimes hard to slid. There is no clunking noises that I can hear. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated.

Sorry it took so long to get back but I just want to say thank you for taking your time and answering my question. I can't believe I didn't see that the first time I looked at it. I reached up and one of the screws actually fell on my face. I tightened the two screws and it works great now. Again, I really appreciate you guys taking your time out and helping others like this! :D
