Electrical problem
2005 Mercury Sable 6 cyl 63000 miles

The keyless entry keypad (on the door, not the remote) on my sable has a bad button. Is there a way this can be repaired or replaced, and if so, is it easy to do yourself, or would it need to be repaired by a pro?

Its not an easy job
1.Remove the front door trim panel
2.Position the watershield aside.
3.Disconnect the exterior door handle actuating rod from the door latch.
? Open the clip.
4. disconnect the electrical connector on keyless entry keypad
5.Remove the bolts and exterior door handle.

6.remove keyless pad 3 nuts
7. remove and replace keyless pad

Could you give a rough estimate on how much it would cost, with parts and labor, for a dealer/mechanic to replace the keypad?

Thanks again
