2004 Mercury Sable Stalled and now hesitates.

2004 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

it's a 2004 mercury sable ls premium

On Saturday, wouldn't start. At all. Got stranded in pine city. Had it towed and the fuel pump replaced. Now, it hesitates. When you push on the gas, it goes, but it's like the RPM's don't kick in for 3-8 seconds and then it goes. . I just put $400 into it!

It's the 2WD (Front), 3.0 liter V-6 201 hp dual overhead cam (DOHC) 24-valve Duratec engine

I just want to know what to do next. I am running out of money quick.

what would make it hesitate before the rpms kick in and it goes?

Has the check engine light come on? Also, was the fuel filter replaced?

The Check Engine light does NOT come on and I am not 100% if they changed the filter or not. I have checked online and the actual part is not so expensive but do you know how hard it is to actually replace. Or if I could do it on my own?

Yes, you would be able to do it. It will either be bolted on to the fuel line or have a quick connect. Not a hard job. I would try that. It should have been replaced with the pump (at least I always do). Let me know if you have other questions.
