2004 Mercury Sable Low oil Pressure light

Recently while i was driving on the freeway my vehicles speed started decreasing and my RPMs started revving up.car revs when in drive but will not move in any gear.(D,R,D1 etc) I was goin steady at 60MPH. pulled over and checked everything and oil level is fine, Trans Lvl was ridiculously high. Vehicle dash displays "Low oil pressure" i hooked up a scan tool to it and could get any fault codes. also what could be the cause of the problem?

bad oil pressure sensor??..i was told by a mechanic that the transmission was shot. i dont think it is, but could somone tell me whats up?

The mechanic is right no movement and high RPMs as for light maybe two issues. Have oil pressure checked with mechanical guage. When you say trans oil level high was that with engine running?
