2003 Mercury Sable Ignition

2003 MERCURY SABLE

When you take the key out the ignition cylinder the car acts as if the key is still in the cylinder and the electrical modules (Radio and others) do not shut down. Changed the ignition switch and it did not help. Is there a sensor that could have gone bad?

When you say your changed the switch, do you mean the cylinder? Or the plastic ignition switch?
