2003 Mercury Sable Can anyone help?

I'm having an intermittent no start. Engine cranks but won't fire. I can hear the fuel pump running when I turn the key on. I took it to a dealer they couldn't find any codes and it started when they had it. When it starts it runs fine. I don't know where to start? Mostly won't start cold in the garage but it has failed after it was driven too.

Hi jim flack,

When engine could not be started, you need to verify what is missing, fuel or igniton.

At bottom of post there is a " First Things To Check " link. From there you can get an idea what to check for if it could not start.

Let me know what you find.
