2002 Mercury Sable SPARK PLUGS & WIRE REPLACEMENT

Ford Motor Company, in their infinate wisdom, choose to place the Intake Manifold over the back/rear-most 3 spark plugs and SP wires. Besides the 8 bolts of the plastic manifold, you'll have to remove 3-4 other engine components. Est time: 2-4 hours depending on what breaks during removal.

While your at it, you might as well replace the PCV valve as it is also buried under the manifold. Even with everything removed the PCV valve is a "challenge" to get at. Note: make sure that you inspect/replace the PCV valve every 30.000 miles as per FMC recommendations!
