2002 Mercury Sable Not so sure

Hello,
I was driving my car yesterday and the engine light came on and hasn't gone off since...... should I be really concerned? I know I'm due for an oil change just haven't had a chance could this be why it's coming on?

If the check engine light has come on, the computer has identified a problem. It could be one of many. What you need to do is take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer to identify the codes. Most will do it for free and then you'll know why the light is on.
