2002 Mercury Sable blower resistor pack

hello, I have replaced the blower speed resistor pack twice now and it keeps blowing after a few days. I figure it is the blower motor but I keep hearing about the cabin filter. will the cabin filter put a strain on the blower and cause this part to blow?

I would check the terminal connector make sure its not burnt
check blower motor wiring and it connector too
replace blower motor

IM not sure your car have a fresh air filter in it
but if you do replace it too
