Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 2001 sable with about 105000 miles on it. I was driving on the highway and it stopped running. When I restarted it I had about 600 rpm's. I took it to the nearest Ford Dealer. They looked at it for about 4 weeks, and could not determine the cause of the problem. I had it towed to my home and our local mechanic said it was the converters. They replaced those and it still does not work. He says that one of the cylinders needs a value job now and they think it is the timing chain. Any ideas, I am thinking about buring it.
