2001 Mercury Sable It jerks and has no accer, and power

Engine Performance problem
2001 Mercury Sable 161000 miles

Everytime I drive my 01 sable it seems to have no power and accerleration. The emission light blinks on and off and the car slightly jerks a lot. Does anyone know what might be wrong and if its expensive to fix?
