My shifter is jammed into park and will not come out of park. I havew been having problems off/on with the shifter coming out of park when I start the car. Usually I just play with it and find a soft spot to get it to shift into drive/reverse. Now its completely jammed and it wont shift down into another gear. The actual handle is stuck and it only happens when I start the car to go somewhere. Once its out of park it works fine until I cut the car off. Now it wont shift at all. Any ideas?

1st step on brakes and check if you have brake light if not check and replace brake light switch
