The check engine light keeps going on. We replaced 3 coils to the pistons (?) so far, and the dealer said the fuel pump is going out.

We took it in when my husband turned on the air conditioner and the car immediately died. Would the fuel pump going out cause this type of reaction?

The diagnostic said fuel pump and coil number 3 needed to be replaced. Also they said to replace the fuel pump would be a little over $600! This seems high to me. Is that a reasonable price?
