1999 Mercury Sable rack and pinion

i have a 1999 mercury sable with a 3.0 engine and i also have a 1998 ford taurus 3.0. i wanted to know if the rack and pinion were interchangable. im putting the one from the ford taurus into the mercury sable. thanks in advance

I have interchanged many parts between the Sable and Taurus. Although I have never interchanged this specific component, I am certain that it will work. You can call your local Ford dealer to verify.

i ended up changing my rack and pinion myself. loads of fun. anyways, the rack and pinion on a 96-98 taurus is different on 99's. they changed a bit in the year 99 and are the same through atleast 2004.
