if the check engine light comes on then go to autozone and have it scanned and get back to me. they do it for free. did you install new plug wires?

I can attest to this very problem.
The Spark Plug wires are junk. Usually they rarely get replaced, and before you spend a fortune on new gaskets and other things, spend $40 on some new Spark Plug Wires.

What's interesting about this problem is it will sometimes cause O2 sensors to die. That is a pain in the A$$ cause the downstream ones are terrible to access without the proper tools, and even with those tools their annoyingly hard, cause there are 4 of them, and it's hard to access them.
