1999 Mercury Sable instrumental panel brake light

1999 Mercury Sable Engine Size unknown Front Wheel Drive Automatic 130000 miles

On the instrumental panel the service brake light has came on. What could be the cause or the reason for this....where do i begin to diagonois?

I had the same problem with my 1998 Sable. It was that the Brake fluid was low in the Master Cylinder. I had a leak at one of the brake calipers. Have it checked ASAP by a pro.
