1998 Mercury Sable need help

My car wont start u turn the key and u here like a clicking sound like a relay all my fuses are good cant figure the problem need helo what could it be.

Try jiggling the shifter and "N" instead of "P". (Nuetral safety switch could've failed).
Check battery (LOAD TEST), connections (power & ground), power to crank (little) wire at starter, etc.
Starters do fail - have someone hold key in "crank" position while you tap on the starter lightly - also see if you can feel/hear any clicking AT THE STARTER when someone tries it.
These are the most common probs. To begin with.
