My engine began making a knocking sound the other day and by today it got progressivly louder. I narrowed it down to my EGR valve, and I either need to take it off and clean it or replace it, and I don't have the means to pay someone to fix it so I need a step by step if possible. Thank you

REMOVAL
1.Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR valve (EGR valve).
2.With a crowfoot wrench, completely loosen the top EGR valve-to-manifold tube nut from EGR valve.
3.Remove two EGR valve retaining bolts, EGR valve and EGR valve gasket from upper intake manifold.

INSTALLATION
1.Clean upper intake manifold sealing surface with a plastic-tipped scraper to remove any residual EGR-valve gasket material.
2.Position EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube into EGR valve and loosely connect EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube nut to EGR valve.
3.Install new EGR valve gasket and bolts retaining EGR valve to intake manifold. On 3.0L (2V) engines, tighten bolts to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft) .
4.On 3.0L (2V) engines, tighten EGR valve to-manifold tube connector at EGR valve to 35-65 Nm (26-47 lb-ft) . On 3.0L (2V) flexible fuel engines, tighten connectors to 30-40 Nm (23-29 lb-ft) .
5.Connect vacuum hose to EGR valve.
