1998 Mercury Sable cannot turn ignition

Cannot turn ignition, will not move. Cannot move shift lever. Just bought car, it was fine, started fine. Parked it and now is not working.

Ensure gear selector is completely in PARK and also make sure that steering wheel is not locked up. More helpful information about this common problem can be found at the following link..
