Air Conditioning problem
1998 Mercury Sable V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 67000 miles

After idling with the ac on (blowing cold) for a few minutes, the ac shuts off automatically and the heater comes on. Could this possibly be the temperature sensor?
Also, after the car sits for a week or so, the open door light stays on with all doors shut. I cannot find the door sensor to check it. I see a cylinder unit near the door hinge encased in rubber and plastic. Is that the sensor button. All fuses look good. How where do I check the door open light?
