1996 Mercury Sable Door lock

My driver side door lock will not unlock, either with the remote key, or from the outside and inside. All other doors will lock and unlock. Any ideas?

Listen for the sound of the actuator poping up and down, if you hear it, then either a control rod inside the door is off, or the actuator anchor rivet broke.
If no sound is hear, it's likley the actuator is frozen, a common problem.
