1996 Mercury Sable Dome light

Ever so often my dome light will stay on and won't go off. It will indicate that a door is open when there isn't. I will have to disconnect the battery to shut it off. Then as mysteriously as it started, it will quit.

sounds like your door switch is going bad, if it was me id go to the salvage yard to get a used one and replace yours, hope it helps
