hi , my 1996 mercury sable car has got problem in heating. it heats so fast and reach to extreme heat. i take it to mechanics and they said i need to replace head and gasket. can i replac it by myself at home? please reply

Hi there,

If you have the equipment and knowable to do this why not, often the head is quite repairable and a new head is not required, i would get a good quality repair manual and read the section on removing the cylinder head, this will be the best way to judge if you are capable of doing this job.
