Engine Cooling problem
1996 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my temperature goes from normal to cold while driving when heat is on and off I flushed the system, replaced thermostat that didnt work so I replaced the water pump and it still continues oh also changed the radiator cap I have no clue what the problem is or what to check next if you can help that would be great

You will find Taurus and Sables have weak flow thru the heater core. I use a hose plier and clamp the long bypass hose that runs around the back of the engine. Or you can replace the core, they clog with the system sludge.
