My ignition switch all of a sudden will not be turned by my key. I have tried moving the steering wheel, jiggling the key, nothing works. A friend thought that possibly the shifter did not properly seat into park so the car "thinks" it is in gear. A few months ago, I lost my original ignition key and had a locksmith make a new one. The first few tries of the new key weren't easy, but since then, and for months, there has been no problem. Until now. I can't turn the key at all, it's as if it's locked. I cannot move the shifter, everything is locked. Any suggestions?

seems like your neutral safety switch may be failing causing these issues.
