1987 Mercury Sable Won't start

The Sable has fire to the plugs. How can I tell if it is getting gas and is in time. Is there a particular module that might have failed?

Do you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn key to run, if so check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge to verify if its within specs-if okay -check for injector/s pulses-

If you don't hear the fuel pump-check fuel pump fuse, fuel pump relay and inertia fuel cut off switch.
