MY DISTRIBUTOR HAS A BUILD UP ON THE CONTACTS AND VARNISH ON THE ROTOR TIP. I HAVE REPLACED BOTH AND THE BUILD UP ON THE CAP CONTACTS STARTED AGAIN. IT NOW RUNS ON 7 CYL. BUT I HAVE SPARK AT THE CAP ON ALL. WHEN IT IS WAM IT WILL NOT START

You probaby have a cracked distributor cap. It is leaking between twocylinders. If you look carefuly inside the cap and see a very fine line going between the two poles that is your problem. In the dealers we used to put dielectric compound on the rotor tip as well as the contact tips in the cap. It will always have the build up that you see though.
