When trying to start the car it sounds like it will start but it will not.

Need to find out what is missing-

lack of fuel-try spraying carb cleaner in the throttle body and see if it starts for a moment.

LAck of spark- Use a spark tester on eash plug to find if spark is getting to the plugs.

Lack of compression/timing- check for compression or the camshaft spinning.
