I recently started hearing an intermittent squealing noise while driving my '98 Mercury Mystique. Today was wet, and while driving on the freeway at a constant 70 m.p.h. the squeal would come every few minutes and last a few seconds. I oculd make it go away by pushing on the accelerator and go up a couple of miles an hour.

Generally a squeal is a sign from the serpentine belt and or pulleys, have those items looked at.
