1997 Mercury Mystique transmission problems

I have a 1997 mercury mystique with a 5 speed manual that has about 188000 miles.I woke up went to put it in reverse but it wouldnt shift into gear.I have 1,3,and 5 gears but no 2,4,and reverse.It feels like there is nothing in the shifter.It hasnt made any noises or leaked any transmission fluid please if u can help me figure this out it would be appreciated thanks
