I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer V6 Engine. Last night we got off in water that was too deep...just above tail pipes...enough to hear bubbling from tail pipes just before drowning out. We were able to start the vehicle and get out of the water pulling into our driveway about 1 block up but vehicle did die out when pulling into driveway. After that it took several tries to start and pull on up in driveway.
This morning the vehicle started but had lack of power and acted as if it would stall every few feet but never did. There is a high pitch whining sound coming from engine. Can you give me an idea of what may be going on. Will it correct itself as things dry out?
