2005 Mercury Mountaineer vent for hot air stopped opening

Had heat going, sudden thump, and hot air stopped, blower still runs, no hot air, temp turn to heat constant thumping no hot air, whats the problem?

I would say you have a blend door actuator problem.
It has been a popular headache for many Explorer - Mountaineer owners over the past 10+ years.
The repair is very involved and the cost for the repair is $1000.00+
A large portion of the cost is labor, the entire dash needs to be removed.

There "is" a quick fix, hopefully you can do it yourself and save a large amount of money.
