2003 Mercury Mountaineer turn signal

My rear driver's side turn signal doesn't work. The front and side markers blink rapidly, but not the rear. I tried changing the rear bulb, but that didn't help. What should I try next to solve this problem? Thank you for your time.

The socket may be bad. Using a test light, see if there is power to the socket.
